Lindsay & Nicholas

The Palms – A beautiful greeny and rustic beach destination wedding – Lindsay & Nicholas

There’s no questions it was love at first sight. The question is when it happened. Was it on a plane over the Pacific Ocean, or was it in the elevator the next morning? That were Lindsay’s words when we asked her for her love story…

She said…”I remember waking up groggy, mid-flight, and watching this scruffy-haired guy make his way to the restroom. I like to think I flashed him a smile as he walked by, but I was probably too busy wiping the sleep out of my eyes to do anything other than stare blankly. The next morning, my co-worker and I were taking the elevator down to breakfast, when the scruffy-haired guy appeared once more..

Over the next 5 years we experienced it all – sharing a tent in remote Alaska, working together under strenuous conditions, having a long-distance relationship, sharing one closet, adopting a second dog, buying and renovating their first house, vacations…the list goes on and on. His proposal was the perfect representation of their relationship. “Things aren’t always easy, and often it seems like a long hike up a big mountain, but together we can conquer whatever is ahead of us, hand-in-hand” said Lindsay.

Nick and Lindsay share a love of nature, music, and food, so it was obvious to them that they would be married outside, serve delicious food, and celebrate with a live band. With the help of a friend, they were pointed in the direction of The Palms Villa in Punta Cana. The villa was perfect for their celebration. When it came to their wedding, they wanted the style of their wedding to really reflect who they are as a couple: laid-back people with a love for the simple things in life. White blooms and eucalyptus filled the air with a fresh fragrance, and highlighted the natural beauty of their beachfront wedding. Forgoing the traditional processional music, they walked into their ceremony to lyrics that told their story. Mason Jenning’s “Be Here Now” was one of the first songs they ever listened to together, and it captured their feelings for that day perfectly.

Following the ceremony, everyone was seated for dinner, enjoyed some dancing around the pool and then headed up to the rooftop for live reggae music. White blooms, and eclectic accents framed every inch of their event, the perfect symbols for the vibrant love of friends and family celebrated on their very special day.
