Hindu wedding at Hyatt Zilara / Ravi & Alisha

Ravi & Alisha met via a dating app when they were both living in San Francisco and the rest is history.

“We wanted a destination wedding on an island where we could have a wedding on a beach. The Dominican Republic was perfect for us – it has beautiful beaches and venues that are large enough to hold Indian weddings (plus ARintheDR has a good ring to it). We came to visit Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and fell in love with it for our wedding venue. Unfortunately, the hurricane in September 2022 caused the resort to close down through our wedding dates, so we had to push our wedding out a couple months but were able to still have it this resort”

Definitely we had a great time documenting Alisha & Ravi’s Mehndi & Pithi party – day 1 & 2 of their 3 days of celebration. The weather -this time- was very pleasant so we were able to do a first look on the deck on the beach, it was pretty romantic for the couple.

Also, their welcome party during the second day was a blast. Singing and dancing were definitely on the cards and the couple also had entertainment in the form of fire dancers.

On the third day, the couple looked stunning in their attires. The ceremony -celebrated at the beach- was followed by a cool party in the ballrooms. We have to confess that the connection between all the family members in Hindu weddings is something that we adore. The vibrant colors and all the significant moments during the whole celebration gave us lovely material as wedding photographers.

“We really appreciate the support and flexibility of our vendors throughout this whole process” says Alisha and we want to say a special shout out to Aneesa from Bethany Harmony weddings who made everything so easy for our team.

A huge thank you to Ravi & Alisha for inviting us to document their destination Hindu wedding in Punta Cana.
