A Save the Date session is more than just beautiful photos, it’s the beginning of your wedding story. And what better way to start that journey than with the golden sands, turquoise waters, and dramatic views of Macao Beach in Punta Cana?

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Triccsy & Will, a sweet couple who discovered us on TikTok (yes, TikTok!). During their vacation in the Dominican Republic, they reached out to book a beach photo shoot and what followed was pure magic. Their chemistry was effortless, the sunset was unforgettable, and the love they shared lit up every frame.

Why Macao Beach?

Macao beach is a hidden gem that offers everything you want in a photo location:

Versatile backdrops – waves, cliffs, palm trees, and soft golden light

It’s less crowded than resort beaches and gives you the freedom to be yourselves – barefoot, playful, and full of joy.

When to Go?

For Triccsy & Will, we planned an early morning shoot. We picked them up from their resort around 7:30 a.m. to catch the soft, dreamy morning light. But if you’re a sunset lover, the golden hour (about one hour before sunset) is also a perfect time. This lighting creates warm, romantic tones that make every photo feel like a scene from a movie.

What to Wear?

We always recommend choosing outfits that complement the natural setting. Think:

Neutrals or soft pastels
Light patterns
Comfortable fabrics that flow with the breeze

Avoid anything too bright or with bold logos—they can distract from your love and the landscape.

Add a Personal Touch

Want your Save the Date to stand out? Bring a fun prop! A custom sign, a champagne bottle, or even your wedding date written on a seashell adds flair and can be repurposed for your wedding website or invitations.
In this session, the couple brought a giant palm leaf and they wrote their date on the sand – so simple, so beautiful, and so them.
