Dreams Onyx Punta Cana Wedding – Selena & Zachary
.

In our latest post, Emily & Louis mentioned that they “wanted a smaller resort but one that still had things to do for everyone, that was kids friendly and a reasonable cost for our guests, so (Royalton Punta Cana) it was perfect for us and for our bridal party” at this time, Selena & Zachary found the same but in Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa.

The resort located in Uvero Alto was called Now Onyx in the past but during the pandemia, it changed the name and had a lot of renovations turning it into a beautiful luxury, all inclusive resort perfect for adults and kids alike.

“We chose Dreams Onyx because one of our top priorities for our destination wedding was to make sure we found a family friendly resort that also catered to our adult guests. Dreams Onyx was the perfect combination of both, between the water park for the kids and the access to Breathless Punta Cana you couldn’t have asked for a better combination and it was certainly reasonable for all our guests financially, we were able to make it a great family vacation and wedding for a reasonable cost and had a blast.” says Selena.

It is not the first time that we heard that the couples who are planning a destination wedding in Punta Cana think that having FUN is one of the most important factors for choosing a destination wedding venue here.

Another important factor to consider in your wedding planning is the budget. “We also didn’t want to pay the typical price for a wedding in the states which can be very expensive” says Zachary. At this point, we highly recommend you to compare costs between having a wedding on the resort (any resort) or on an “outside wedding venue”, unfortunately, the majority of the all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana have increased their vendor fees to have external vendors for your wedding day, so at the moment to make this decision, you will have to ask yourself which aspects of your wedding are really important to you and then if it’s worth to pay this extra cost for having your favorite vendors on your special celebration on the resort or find the venue that let’s you choose your vendors freely. (Ask us about this subject and we’ll tell you more)

This year in particular, the seaweed affected several beaches in Punta Cana and the resorts beaches were not the exception. “The wedding backdrops of the resort were beautiful, we loved the fountain” says Selena, and we can’t agree more with that. The infrastructure of this gazebo is both modern and gorgeous, even if you don’t have any special decoration. So, if you are having your celebration on summer -as Selena & Zach- this option is the best without any doubt.

The hotel offers 4 areas for the reception: garden, beach, pool and the ballrooms. The couple chose the latter for their party and it was a good decision. July is particularly a humid and hot month, so air conditioning is a must even in the evening if you don’t want to suffer the brutal heat. Returning to the budget stuff, you will not need an excessive budget in decoration, Just add some bistro lights and the place will turn into something really beautiful.

Final thoughts of Selena & Zachary: “We absolutely loved our experience as a destination wedding couple in Punta Cana. Everyone we met was kind, friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this place for any wedding couple and we will certainly be back for a visit in the future”
